An Excerpt...

Last night was an unforgettable dream; A real dream in midst of a series of nightmares that took her by surprise. It shone like a bright star on a dark cloudy sky; it contrasted like a freshly bloomed flower smiling gloriously upon a jungle of withered shrubberies and bushes, a ray of light in everlasting darkness of dungeons deep beneath. After a long haul had the insecurities seen any hope, the clouded visions any path to the future, the uncertainties diminished by some degrees. She took a deep breath and let the hope fill her insides. she thought of every possible possibility, contemplated over every detail and neatly tied up every loose end in her mind. When she felt settled in mind, she exhaled.

Everything seemed possible now….. There was a plan to execute, a crucial decision to make. Life will never be the same again. Last night’s events had made that possible.

The Notebook

The Notebook The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I had never read Nicholas Sparks before and had picked up the book just to while away my time. As i flowed from page to page i was captured by the depth it was narrated. simple phrases were used to describe the most beautiful expressions and i was left wondering in awe, how simple and ordinary life of an 80-something man may hold a depth of a heart moving tragic love story.
The story has a smooth start and smooth finish with elements of excitement, grief, romance ingrained in between.
I didn't notice the time passing by as i read the book and grew engrossed in it and when i finished it, i thought that it has ended too quickly. At the end of the book i wished there was more of it.

Anticipating the monsoon…

I’ve had enough of this heat and sun, dry and coarse winds, enough of this scorching summer now. I’m waiting for monsoon.

I’m craving for the raindrops to fall from above and hit the grounds. I’m longing for the smell of earth after it has rained. I’m anticipating the chill and moisture that fills the air during monsoon. I’m yearning to see every inch of soil covered with greenery. The longing has become intense now that monsoon is just three days away (according to newspaper reports). I miss the dripping sound of water on the windowsill of my bedroom and having a steamy cup of tea, sitting there while it rained, remembering the finest moments of my life or reading my favorite novels against the background sound of splashing water and thundering clouds.
I just hope monsoon will be here soon.
